‘I’ve got to fail to learn to fly’ is a self penned lyric and moto that Kate Hindle lives by. Finding the inner strength to keep pushing forward despite failure, is something Hindle understands best. From hospital beds, to learning to walk again despite chronic pain from degenerative disc disease, prove that Kate is a strong willed young woman.
Hindle’s pain and triumph are the inspiration behind her latest release ‘Ready For The Ride’. The mini album touches on melancholy at times with her latest single ‘Loneliness’ and ‘My Whiskey Lullaby’. The sadness never lingers too long, giving the listener time to absorb the raw emotions, but then to be uplifted by the fresh upbeat themes of the title track and the emotional but positive ‘Piece by Piece’.
The title track, ‘Ready For The Ride’ a co-write between Hindle and six time Golden Guitar winner Lyn Bowtell has a taste of pop country with a powerful theme. Kate says “Writing the song from a wheelchair, with a broken heart, the lyrics bloomed from the inspiration of walking again and becoming mentally strong enough to achieve anything”.
Hindle describes ‘Loneliness’, her co-write with six time Golden Guitar winner Felicity Urquhart as “The bittersweet and confusing journey of love and sadness…that leads to the realisation that loneliness, is just loneliness”. Once again Kate explores the theme of rising from the ashes, the understanding that the very nature of pain can often be the catalyst for growth.
Kate Hindle’s warm vocal tones and raw lyrics take the listener on a journey of love, personal victory, positivity and a yet a touch of heartache.
